If you find that an upload fails, it is often not due to the app itself, but rather a specific technical setting on your phone called High Efficiency.
The videos files can be recorded in for example .mov or .mp4, but behind those names is something called a codec.
a codec is the technology that compresses your video so it doesn't take up too much space. Some pack it so tightly (High Efficiency) that certain apps struggle to "unzip" it again.
While High Efficiency (also known as HEVC or H.265) saves storage space on your device, it often creates compatibility issues in apps. To ensure your videos always work in Beefit, we recommend switching to "Most Compatible".
How to change the settings
To ensure your phone records in a format that all systems can process, follow these steps:
Iphone
Open Settings on your iPhone.
Scroll down and select Camera.
Tap Formats.
Select Most Compatible (instead of High Efficiency).
From now on, your videos will be saved as standard .mp4/H.264 files, which are much easier for the app to handle.
Android
Android devices (such as Samsung or Google Pixel) have a similar setting, though the names may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer:
Open your Camera app.
Tap the Settings icon (the gear icon, usually in the top corner).
Look for Advanced recording options or Video formats.
Toggle High efficiency video (HEVC) to OFF.
Ensure the camera is set to save in a standard format instead.
This change only affects videos you record after changing the setting.
